Hello and welcome to MUSIC!!
I am looking forward to this year, and have lots of exciting things planned! I am overjoyed to be working with the leaders at Main Street Intermediate and I hope that the students and I will have a great year exploring and making music together.
Only puppies make me happier than music does :) I really enjoy teaching classroom music, but also going to rock/pop concerts, orchestra events, jazz clubs, and theatre productions. I have played the clarinet for about 15 years, and I am also working on building my skills with guitar, ukelele, and piano. I also LOVE to sing, and am so grateful that I get to share that love with my students.
I'm originally from Wisconsin. I've lived in Texas for four years now, and I don't miss snow even a little bit! I got my bachelor's degree in music education at Ball State University in Indiana, and this summer I extended my education with a graduate course on the Kodaly method of teaching music, at Texas State. I learned a lot of really fun songs, games, and techniques that I am going to implement this year. My goal for my students is that they enjoy music and learn to recognize themselves as musicians.
